Walt Schulz founded STec in 2015 to advance clean tech marine engineering solutions. A naval architect and marine engineer, Schulz founded Shannon Boat Company with the intent to design and build semi-custom, offshore sail and power yachts to the highest quality standards.  As hands-on President/designer/engineer, he created a unique in-house mold making, tooling and engineering operation to ensure that Shannon remained on the forefront of market changes and innovation.  Schulz has taken his designs from computer to sea trials, bringing 21 new models to market ranging in size from 28’ to 58’ and constructing  yachts worth more than $170 million over a 40+ year period.  He has received six this marine-related U.S. Patents for his design work. Schulz has written numerous articles that have been published in various yachting magazines over the years, and he has spoken before many trade, professional, and community agencies.

Walt and the Shannon team continue to work on greenhouse gas solutions for the marine industry in Bristol, Rhode Island and New Bedford, Massachusetts.
